“Increase active mobility and recreation by bike.” – Isabella Burczak & Emma Pooley

SportWorks TALKS – #WomenInSport series

The bicycle has recently been highlighted as a key solution to the challenges of post-COVID19 recovery. However, various barriers persist with regard to ensuring an increase in societal uptake whether for transport, health or leisure. We will examine solutions and initiatives being developed by cities and organisations around the world to overcome them.

Isabella is the Advocacy Manager for the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI), the world governing body for cycling, and is responsible for all related partnerships and promotion of its “Cycling For All” initiatives.

Emma is the Project Manager for #fastandfemaleSUI, a drive by Swiss Cycling to increase female participation in cycling. As a former professional cyclist, world champion, and Olympic medalist she is passionate about the importance of elite sport in inspiring grassroots participation.
